ChangeTip, providing services of social tipping, has informed about its new feature of a “decentralised” wallet, responding thus to a demand from bitcoin users.
The new product – ChangeTip Wallet – is about to make the use of platform’s social media integrations much easier. Users may use it for funds transfer and improved management over their account with their own private keys to approve payments through desktop or mobile applications.
Until recently, all the client had to fund their accounts with ChangeTip for the purpose of using the service. According to the company’s statement, bitcoin users have been asking for a more decentralized model of the platform.
The ChangeTip team started to work on ChangeTip wallet preparation, which enabled the clients to “fully experience the benefits that bitcoin offers”.
According to Nick Sullivan, Founder and CEO of ChangeCoin (company behind the ChangeTip) this is a bitcoin wallet product, where “your private keys never leave your phone and you can still send tips on Twitter.”
He added:
“We listened to feedback, learned lessons, and now we really want to build and deliver something valuable that people feel good about using.”
Clients could benefit from wider opportunities as in the standard ChangeTip service. As Sullivan states: “Now we are [launching] an API that enables any wallet to pair with ChangeTip and receive payment requests. “This will be an open API, so ChangeTip social services can empower other wallets as well.”
Starting in 2013, ChangeTip raised more than $3.5m for its social tipping service as the growth in users boosted investors. Besides some problems with accusals of company’s use of client data, reliance on off-blockchain micropayments and ability to limit transactions of clients in line with relevant regulations, ChangeTip was able to go on with its ability to experiment and due to further users increase the company became one of the top startups at the beginning of the previous year.
