magnaFX, magna

Please tell us about your background and how you became a Forex expert and how you co-founded MagnaFX?

With a background in Mathematics and Finance and over 25 years of professional experience in Capital Markets and 20 years in the FX market, I am proud to say my successful track record in the field, both professionally and academically, is acknowledged in the industry and that brings a smile to my face.

After graduating in the field of Mathematics at the University of Patra and completing my B.Sc. in Maths, combined with an M.Sc. in Finance at the Athens University of Economics and Business. After that, I participated in the academic life in a most dynamic manner. I went on to attend seminars from the Swiss Banking Federal Commission, the Ministry of Economics, then as a guest lecturer in the Department of Economics at the University of Piraeus from 2009 to this day.

Accredited by the Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HCMC) and the Commodities Futures Trading Commission, US (CFTC). I then went on to holding the positions of, Chief Director of Europrime Investment R&D, Europe Director at Solid Gold Financial Services USA, Private Banking Officer for High Net Worth clients at the Bank of Cyprus and Chief Economist at ZuluTrade.

The first part of your question can give you an understanding why it was the right time in my career to make the leap of taking on a new and exciting project. After having long discussions with my long-time good friend, Christos Vassileiou, President and Shareholder of Magna Trust Securities and Investment Services SA Established in 1999, we decided and agreed to add Forex trading to Magna Trusts range of products.

Who is Magna Trust?

Magna Trust Securities and Investment Services SA is a financial company established and regulated since 1999, an official member of the Athens Stock Exchange, authorized and regulated by the Hellenic Capital Market Commission. Magna Trust is also compliant with the MiFID directive in Europe and passports to various different countries in the EU.

What are the strengths of Magna Trust?

Magna Trust is a company that takes pride in its ethics and fair trading and most of all, we have an unique customer support service.

Fair trading is very important in the Forex industry. That´s why we offer an authentic ECN system, which gathers prices from over 50 banks and financial institutions and thus offers our clients the best price. Trading in a straight-through processing (STP) environment with no dealing desk, we offer blazing-fast execution as this is among the top sought-after features by our clients. We have achieved this by having located our MT4 servers in both London and New York financial data centers.

Everyone on our staff is dedicated to providing our clients with a trouble-free trading environment, providing a 24 hour support in multiple languages. Our tech team is always available to support their needs with custom indicators and trading processes, from the smallest trading amounts of people new to the world of FX to professionals of high calibre alike.

What are Magna FX plans for the future?

An important factor is our geographical location and its regulatory system. We are one of only a handful Forex brokers in Greece and one of few regulated financial institutions. The Hellenic Capital Markets Commission (HCMC) is one of the strictest regulatory bodies in the EU. This provides us with a good foundation to expand within the MiFiD region. This opens the door to many clients and offers security and comfort in their trading.

Do not forget that when Greece instituted capital controls brokers where not affected as they are segregated; Magna Trust is shielded from events in the Greek economy, as were CySec regulated companies in Cyprus.

Magna Trust is a company built as a team from the ground up, together (and uniquely so) with its clients. We have an “always open door policy” and are always looking for ways to improve. Magna FXs´ plan for the future is to grow steady and continuously, as it has been doing since 1999.
