The Foxes won the title without scoring on Monday as Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham at Stamford Bridge was enough for Leicester to get the title mathematically beyond Spurs’ reach with two games still to play.

At the start of the season, a sport analysts and marketing firm Repucom has estimated the soccer club probability to reach triumph at a 5,000-1 shot. Leicester even only narrowly avoided relegation to England’s second tier during the previous year and now will bank over $132 million for winning the league.

Leicester’s remarkable triumph also makes the club more interesting for marketing so the team will be able to earn more from any potential commercial agreements.

Ranieri: game-changer?

During the summer 2015, Claudio Ranieri was informed by his agent Steve Kutner, that he was successful in his attempt to convince Jon Rudkin, Leicester City’s director of football, that Ranieri was the proper person for the Premier League club’s new manager and finally there was news of a breakthrough.

Ranieri was interested in returning to England as he was in charge of Chelsea before and Nigel Pearson’s dismissal at Leicester provided him a new opportunity.

Leicester’s success under Ranieri showed one of the greatest achievements in English soccer and even in football in general. Tactically was Leicester immediately changed under Ranieri. During pre-season he was persuaded that playing with a three-man central defence – a system that worked extremely well for Pearson and the players at the end of last term – should be adjusted. Although it seemed too radical, Ranieri was successful in this attempt as well as with his team selection and substitutions.

Now we can see another incredible change in the soccer history, making headlines. “It’s probably the biggest sporting story ever and the biggest sporting achievement ever,” Premier League chief Richard Scudamore said.
